The members of the Amherst Saxophone Quartet, who are the saxophone quartet in residence at the L'niversity at Buffalo, offered the third program in their four-part series at Slee Hall Thursday evening. Mower, Mike

MIKE MOWER, baritone saxophonist with the saxophone quartet Itchy Fingers, originally studied classical flute at the Royal Academy in London. His high-energy pieces provide many opportunities for improvisation. In addition to producing classical and jazz CDs, his work as composer and arranger has included commissions for ensembles such as the BBC Big Band and Radio Orchestra, London, the NDR Big Band, Hamburg, the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim, and many classical and jazz ensembles throughout Europe.
